“Tory Defector Robert Jenrick Heckled at Constituency Return”

Politics"Tory Defector Robert Jenrick Heckled at Constituency Return"

Tory defector Robert Jenrick faced heckling during his return to his constituency following his switch to the Reform party.

At a gathering in Newark, a man was escorted out after shouting angrily at the MP as he took the stage. Amidst boos from Reform supporters, security removed the irate protester.

Hundreds of party backers attended the hastily arranged rally in Mr. Jenrick’s constituency after his departure from his previous party. Despite the disruption, Jenrick greeted the man with a calm “Good to see you my friend.”

The protester continued to yell, mentioning Tory MP David Davis and Lucy Letby, although the purpose of his outburst remains unclear.

The incident overshadowed Reform’s attempt to embrace the controversial former Conservative minister, as discontent grows over Jenrick’s change in allegiance.

Following his dismissal by Kemi Badenoch for alleged plotting, Jenrick announced his move to Reform last Thursday, earlier than anticipated. Addressing the party faithful, he expressed confidence in his decision, stating, “I have never felt stronger and more certain about anything I have done in my life.”

Taking a swipe at his former party, Jenrick declared at the rally, “In joining Reform, I am determined never to defend the indefensible again. I didn’t leave the Conservatives just because they can’t fix Britain, and they can’t. I left because Reform will mend Britain.”
